The aerial is fastened to the officer’s back by shoulder straps, and the receivers are held close to his oars, so that he can hear any message or signal broadcasted. The box is suspended across the man’s chest within easy reach of his hands. This arrangement permits a hasty mobilisation of the guardians of the peace in case of trouble.
