DROWNED IN FLOODED RIVER.

WANGANUI MAN’S FATE. (Per United Press Association.) WANGANUI, June 19. Air H, A r . Duigan, manager of tho Wanganui Herald, and cue of tho bestknown local men, lost his life in the flooded river to-night. In order to make his oil launch safe, ho put off in a dinghy, which capsized. Air Duigan, who was an excellent swimmer, had his foot caught in a rope, and was drowned. The body was recovered. The deceased was prominent ;n musical and dramatic circles. He was leader of the Alotor Launch Club, and was an enthusiast generally in public affairs. He was well known in Alasonle circles, having been a Past Master of Lodge Tongairiro. The news of the death has caused widespread regret.
