AMERICAN MEDICAL. SCANDAL.! PROMINENT DOCTOR SENTENCED. Prase Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, Juno 18. Received June 19, at 9.20 p.m.) A St. Louis (Missouri) message says that the State-wide investigation into the medical frauds, particularly the so-called 'diploma mills,” resulted in the conviction of Dr Robert Adcox, a noted St. Louis physician, - who was sentenced to two years in a penitentiary. It is stated that it was proved that Dr Adcox bribed the local superintendent of schools to issue to medical college registrants a certificate falsely declaring that. the registrant had completed a high school education, thus enabling him to enter a medical college. This is the State’s first conviction in connection with the medical frauds, and paves the way to sentencing a group of Dr Adcox’a associates.—A. and iS. Z. Cable. NEKS FOR.
