DELEGATION IN BRUSSELS. LAVISHLY ENTERTAINED. Pron« Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. BRUSSELS, June 17. (Received Juno 18, at 9 p.m.) A telegram from Antwerp says that Sir James and Miss Allen and Sir George and Gacly Elliott have arrived there. They were officially received by the Governor and Burgomaster and given a luncheon by the Chamber of Commerce. Later they inspected tho port. They were banquetted by the municipality in the evening.—Reuter. Sir Janies Allen recently entertained a Belgian delegation In London, and in the course of a speech he said that New Zealand was not so narrow-minded that she failed to see the desirability of going outside the Empire if an opening could be found to sell goods or to buy necessities at satisfactory prices, despite the fact that her main and foremost idea was to develop inter-Empire trade. The Belgian .Ambassador (M. Moncheur), in replying, paid the war had opened tho eyes of Belgium to the value of frozen beef, mutton; and cheese. The Belgians were consuming increasing quantities of these. M. Moncheur prophesied excellent markets in Belgium for New Zealand high-quality produce and said he hoped that direct steamers would soon be established.
