At the naval inquiry into the explosion on board tho -Mississippi a seaman testified that, following on the first explosion, ho was assisting to carry a body from the wrecked turret when the dead man’s stiffened hand struck the tiring switch, throwing it into contact with a live shell and producing tho second explosion. —Sydney Sun Cable.
