EDUCATION BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Education Board was held yesterday, and was attended by Messrs J. Wallace (chairman), J. Horn, M.P., J. Smith. L. Sanderson, G. K. Graham, R. H. S. Todd, G. Livingstone, G. W. Wood, and J. 11. Wilkinson. An application from the Mount Stuart School for £5, cost of gravelling round the teacher’s residence, was granted. The Architect recommended the expenditure of £lO on the Tokomairiro District Ilgh School for the repair of snouting. —The recommendation was approved.—Mr Bowie’s application for compensation for improvements made by him was declined. Tt wa s decided to install a. concrete cylinder as a tank to hold about 580 gallons (cost about £l6) at tho Benhar School. It was also decided lo grant £3 10s towards the cost of the rc-crection of an ashpit at the school. The Otolcia Committee’s application for repairs to the glebe fence, etc (cost £8 15s) was granted.
