PLANT AT SINGAPORE
QUESTION OF SACRIFICE. LONDON, June 6. Members of the Conservative Party are much perturbed at the announcement- that the plant assembled at Singapore for the construction of the naval base is to bo sold, particularly in view of Mr Ramsay MacDonald's statements that the Singapore scheme has only been postponed. • The political correspondent of The Times says that Viscount Curzon intends to ask Mr Ramsay MacDonald whether his Government is not ill-advised in selling valuable plant, which may have to he repurchased. thus involving the State in certain loss.
