TRAMCAR FATALITY.

INQUEST ADJOURNED. An inquest concerning the death of Cyril Victor Herbert Kelly, who was run over by a Mornington cable car on Monday afternoon, was opened at the Morgue yesterday morning , before the Coroner, Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M. Reginald Victor Kelly, machine moulder, residing at 55 Serpentine avenue, deposed that Cyril Victor Herbert Kelly was his late son. Ho identified the body. The boy was five years and four months of age. He had attended the High Street School since the beginning of the year. He was accustomed to going backwards and forwards alone. The deceased enjoyed excellent health. He was strong and healthy. Dr Evans said that he had that day made an examination of the body, which was that of a well-developed boy There were extensive injuries to the body, the chief of which was a fracture of the skull, which exposed the brain. The fracture extended to the loft side also. There was a fracture of the left lower jaw. The left thigh was also broken. There was also a lacerated wound on the inner side of the left leg. The right leg had been severed below the knee joint. Both hands were blackened with grease and oil. Over the shoulder blade, extending to the bottom of the spine, there was an extensive area of muscles exposed. The cause of death was in his opinion due to shock following injuries to the head and body. The inquest was adjourned to 10 a.m. on Monday next at the Courthouse.
