BAN ON BOXING

(Received June 16, at 5.5 p.m.) Austrian police have prohibited boxing matches, alleging that they conduce to brutalisation, cause a waste of money, and keep the young from work.—A. and N.Zi. Cable. WILLS-PIRPO NEGOTIATIONS. Preas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BUENOS AIRES, June 14. The negotiations for the Wills-Firpo match have been resumed between Pirpo and Juan Homs (Hr Rickard’s agent) on a basis of a now offer by Mr Rickard, considerably reducing the original offer of 230,000 dollars. Mr Rickard has lowered the sum because of the failure of Wills to knock out Madden. The new terms are not disclosed, Imt it is understood that a largo reduction in the guarantee is balanced by an offer of a liberal percentage of the gate receipts. Pirpo has requested time to finish a kincma production, and does not want to leave lot tho United States before July 17.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
