GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Ltd.) report: Oats. —The market has firmed slightly again, though merchants are buying very cautiously. Good bright seed lines are easily disposed of, but farmers’ offerings are now practically nil. We quote: A Gartqns, 5s 2d; B Cartons, 5s (sacks extra). Wheat.—Business in wheat has ceased. A few lines remain in the country, but farmers’ ideas of values are much in excess of milling or poultry feed prices. Wo quote: 5s 6d per bushel, good whole fowl (sucks extra). Chaff.—Merchant* are etill operating with Canterbury offerings, and prices remain at last week’s rates. We quote: £2 bs per ton (socks extra). Potatoes.—There is little to report in this market. Several consignments have arriv'd from th« north, and prices remain much the same. We quote; £0 to £6 15s per ton (sacks in). Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: Oats.—Tho demand, particularly for seed oats, has improved, and values have firmed. We quote; A Cartons, Ss 2d; B Cartons, Os per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—Stocks are light, and the demand continues good. Good whole fowl wheat is inquired for at up to 5s 6d per bushel. Potatoes.—Supplies are coming forward freely, and values for choice lines remain firm at our last week’s quotations. Good tables are realising from £6 to £6 15s per ton Chaff.—The bulk ot the consignments «i----riving are from Canterbury, and local feeders are buyers of prime oaten sheaf at £9 5s per ton (sacks extra). Tho National Mortgage and Agency Company are in receipt of the following cablegram from Messrs G. E. Hudson and Son, London:— The Port Brisbane’s shipment of Cleopatvag was talhet fully coloured and part whs wasted. The Jonathans were ripe, and showed signs of bruise. The Stunners were a little immature. The quinces were frozen. The other apples were satisfactory. Prices; Jonathans, 14s to 15s; Stumers, 15s to 17s.
