DEATH OF A BABY
A CALLOUS FATHER. CORONER’S VERDICT OF MURDER.. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 12. (Received June 13, at 5.5 p.m.) The Coroner’s verdict was one of murder against Travis.—A. and N.Z. Cable. Following stories by neighbours that the 10 months’ old baby boy of a married couple named Travis, residing at Marylebone was missing, the .police questioned them. They first stated that the baby had been sent to the care of friends. Later Travis, whose age is 21, admitted that the child had been restless at night, and that he had squeezed its nose to quieten it, and it had ceased breathing. He then placed the body in a kitbag, and left it in the New street railway cloakroom. The detectives found it there, and arrested Travis on a charge of murder.
