ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
The match at Culling Park at 2.15 p.m. to-day, between Scacliff and Taieri, should afford supporters of Association football an opportunity of seeing a first-class exposition cf the game. Although starting badly at the beginning of the season, the Taieri team has gradually worked its way upwards. culminating in its draw last Saturday with the Mornington team, whose only defeat: was at the hands of Scacliff early in the year in a closely contested game. Tim public will, therefore, have an opportunity of seeing the team which is to defentd 'the Chatham Cup pitted against a strong local team. Southern will meet -Old Boys at the Oval, Mornington will meet Kaitangata at Mornington, and Maori Hill will play Northern at"the Clear, so that all first grade, matches thh week are being played in town. A considerable amount of interest is being taken in this week’s matches, as the result, of Saturday’s games will have on important bearing on" the final result of the competition.
