DUNEDIN MALE CHOIR.
Mr J. A. Ilopcraft (vice-president) presided over u gathering of over 40 members at the adjournment of the annual meeting of the Dunedin Male Choir, held in the Commercial 'travellers’ Association rooms on Wednesday. ' ~ A telegram from Mr G. W. MTntosh, of Wellington, was road accepting rc-iiomina-tion, and wishing the choir continued success. Mr W. Wilson, from his native place in Scotland, also sent good wishes to the men. In accordance with amended article 111 the vice-presidents were elected for the current season, the gentlemen chosen being Dr Church, Messrs J A Hopcraft. G. W. MTntosh, C. Russell Smith, and W. Ibbotson (all re-elected!, Hon. C. E. Statham, his Worship the Mayor (Mr 11. L. Tapley), and Mr R. Hudson. The subscription of performing members for the year was fixed, and a vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting. The, re-elected chairman of committee (Mr G. J. Krrington) then conducted a ballot for a first bass, and Mr R. Tapley, who had successfully passed the tests, was elected and introduced to the choir. The songs rehearsed last night wore "ihe Forge Song,” "Komptor,” “Lover’s Serenade.” and “Ever Thine,” by Franz Abt, “The Rising Storm,” Neumann, and “Strike the Lyre,” Cooke.
