ALL BLACKS TOUR.

ATTITUDE OF SCOTTISH UNION. (FeOM OUB OITO Colt RESPONDENT.) LONDON, May 6. At the annual meeting of Hie Scottish Rugby Union, hold at - Edinburgh, it was supposed that the attitude taken up towards tlie New Zealand tour would invest, the proceedings with a certain degree of piquancy, but from an unofficial source it appears that tho expected storm of criticism did not break out among the club delegates. Tho meeting was described as “short and uneventful.” Tho Retiring President (Mr R. T. Neilsonl, however, made a statement regarding the attitude of the union towards the tour. He mentioned that the Scottish Union had no quarrel with the New Zealanders, but that the committee had decided to lake.no part in the arrangements of the tour liecause of the manner in which tho Rugby Union had arranged it. He staled that a desire was expressed that a team from this country should tour South Africa last year. The tour had been postponed until this year, and was being undertaken by tho International Board in terms of a resolution arrived at by the International Board some time after tho New Zealand tour of 1905-6, when it was agreed that any tour overseas, or any visit to this country by a team from overseas, should be made under the direct auspices and control of the International Board. In July of last year they received a communication from the Riigbv Union informing them that the Now Zealand Union was desirous of sending a team to this country in the autumn of 1924, that it was proposed to arrange 34 matches in this country and in France, and that the Rugby Union was prepared to allocate two matches to Scotland.
