The Colonial Secretary, Mr Thomas, told an amusing story at the Empire Parliamentary Association’s luncheon of how he lost himself in the maze of the Colonial Office corridors and sought th© services of a guide. The guide, not recognising him, became confidential and asked him if he were a temporary civil servant. Mr Thomas: “Yes.” Guide: “Eve been here four months.
