On Saturday afternoon the Bruce Defence Rifle Club commenced the final competition of tiie present season for prizes donated by members of the club. The weather was fine, but a strong reai wind interfered considerably with the shooting. The targets were somewhat hazy on account of a smoke screen passing across the range from a distant fire, and this did not tend to improve the conditions riflemen were experiencing. The scores therefore wero not quite up to the standard, misses being frequent.
