At a mass meeting of members of the Auckland section of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association the following resolution was carried unanimously: —" In view of the statement of the chairman of the Railway Wages Board that its finding will decide the claims of tho rest of the Public Service, this section requests that representatives of the Post and Telgrapb service, to bo elected by their association, be appointed to the board, the representatives to bo the president and the secretary of the association: that representatives of the association be allowed to state the case for their service before the board; that no further sittings of the board take place or no decision lie given until these demands are fulfilled : that the Executive Committee

be immediately called together, and tuiould representation be granted, the service act in concert with the railway service.” A resolution was passed congratulating the railwayman on their determined stand against the reintroduotion of the 48-hour week, and urging the Post and Telegraph Executive to assure tho railwayman of earnest support REPRESENTATION ON THE BOARD. The Wairarapa branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association at the animal meeting to-night unanimously passed the following resolution:—“That this meeting of tho Wairarapa section oi the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association emphatically protests against the decision of the Railway Wages Board affecting the wages of the officers of this department, unless our own service is represented on that lx>anl. The local branch of 'the Post and Tele graph Officers’ Association io-night carried the following resolutions: — “This section is unanimously of the opinion that if our ro-classification is largely linked up w'ilh the finding of ihe present Wages Board inquiry in regard to the railwaymen’s claims we should he direct’y represented on the board by our own nominees, with the right to produce cvhleiuxi hearing on our special conditions.” “This section extends sup]>ort. to the railway societies in their endeavour to improve the salaries and working conditions in (ho Civil Service.’’ OAMARUS REQUEST. OAAIARU, March 31. The following resolution was nassed at a meeting of the Oamaru branch of the Post and Telegraph Association to-night;— “if it is intended that the finding of the Railway Wages Board is to affect the reclassification of this department this section respectfully requests that (he Post and Telegraph Association be represented on the board.’’
