YOUNG WOMAN’S SUICIDE. (PtM United Pbbbo Association.) AUCKLAND, March 31. Minnie Bertha Arndt, aged 32, residing .fitb her parents at Parnell, was found lii, her room with her throat cut and a razor alongside. A doctor was called, but the woman was dead. A verdict of suicide while in a state’ of depression was returned. Deceased had suffered from • opileptic fits since childhood. DEATH FROM BURNS. (Pzb United Bazas Association.) INVERCARGILL, March 31. , The three-year-old daughter of Mr Herbert Roderique, a settler at Papatotara, waa fatally burned through her clothes catching fire during the temporary absence ... of her mother. A sister aged five years made a plucky attempt to extinguish the flames, and w«s also severely burned. " ‘ ELDERLY WOMAN’S pKATH. i On Sunday an elderly woman, 79 years i»f age, Mrs Muir, a widow, residing with her daughter, Mrs M'lntosh, of Earns- ' cleugh, died suddenly (reports our Alexandra correspondent). No doctor having been in attendance, an inquest will be necessary. • DEATH FROM HEART FAILURE. •’ A'sudden death occurred at Mosgiel_ on Saturday afternoon, when Mrs Lavinia • Cproulo, the wife of Thomas Sproule, passed away. Mrs Sproule, who was 65 years of age, was engaged in her household duties when she suddenly collapsed. As a doctor had - not been attending her an inquest was held yesterday before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., who sat as coroner. Evidence was given by the husband of the deceased, by Mrs Hutchison i(a neighbour), and by Dr Shaw. The coroner returned a verdict that qeoth was due to heart failure, following on degeneration of the heart muscles.
