GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Donald Reid and Co. report; Oats.—Australian importation* have affected the market, and a decidedly easier tone is noticeable in buyers’ offerings. We quote, for prompt delivery: A Cartons, 4a 2d; i> Gartens, 4s (sacks extra). Wheat.—Very little offering. Millers are keen after milling, hut farmers are inclined to hold in anticipation of receiving higher money from poultry breeders. We quote 6s per bushel for good whole fowl (sacks extra). Chaff.—lmportation* from Australia are affecting the market for chaff also. The demand ia purely local, and this embraces prime only. Wo quote £7 per ton for best quality (sacks extra). Lower grades are hard to quit at 451 per ton. Potatoes.—Consignments are coming in freely, and, local stores being well supplied, values have eased slightly.
