DOMINION TOURNAMENT. THE RINKS COMPETITION. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. January 14. The dominion bowling championship was continued to-day on 12 city greens. A start was made with the rinks championship, in which there are 124 entries. The players were divided into 12 sections. The weather was much more pleasant, although a tricky north-east wind interfered with the play in the morning. The following won both games played:— Wylie (Kaiapoi). (Pjtn Uvmrn Pmw Association. I CHRISTCHURCH, January 14. The Dominion cf New Zealand Bowling Council and delegates from the centres met on Saturday night. _ The meeting adopted a Wellington remit suggesting that the council give authority for a large deputation to tlie Prime Minister, with the object of getting a Daylight Saving Bill put into operation, and it was stated that the innovation had the support of nil sportsmen, and had also become a permanent institution in the Wellington Government offices and the Pelono Workshops. A suggestion was made that bowlers should sign a monster petition on the subject. The meeting rejected a Wellington remit suggesting the registration of club emblems and monograms. A Christchurch remit suggesting minimum size mats, 35in by 15in, was referred to the council. In connection with a request from South Auckland Centre for a North Island tournament at Hamilton in 1926, the meeting pointed out this matter must ho decided by the incoming council.
