Tho Kiwi Defence Rifle Club’s final competition for prizes presented by Colonels E. R. Smith and J. P. Predrio waa fired on Saturday afternoon. The weather was fine, but warm, and a strong north-east wind, with a very dull light at the longer range, helped to keep the scoring lower than usual. The A Grade competition was won by that veteran shot, Rifleman T. Jones, who has discarded the aperture sight and reverted to the old style (the ordinary sliding V. sight), and well deserves his,success.: Rifleman W. Mills was a close second. The B Grade competition was won by Rifleman C. H. M'Keich, with the deputy president (Mr B. Bruce) a close second. The annual Christmas Handicap shoot of the Miniature Rifle Club was. held on Saturday evening- for prizes presented by Messrs Sligo, Burton, and J. Gilleapie. There was a good attendance of members of the various clubs. Riflemen Callis. Pinder, Bruce, and Johnson tied for first place, and after a shoot-oS, Rifleman Callis won the goose, Rifleman Pinder the Christmas pudding, and Rifleman Bruce the cake.
