Reference was made to-day at the annual meeting of the Auckland Stock Exchange i by the chairman (Mr G. C. Creagh) to the gold mining industry. He said that it was to be regretted that in spite of increased activity there had not been any new finds of any consequence. During the year developments in the Waihi mine had, however, reached a very interesting stage as the result of the lateral exploration recommended by Mr Morgan (the Government geologist) Mr Creagh said that altogether the outlook for the old mine was at present more promising than bad been the case for some yeans past. The Grand -I unction had unfortunately been delayed with its development, hut. it was hoped that the opening up of' No. 11’ level would bo productive of’ satisfactory " results. Developments were still proceeding, at the Moar.iltamri mine, Thames, and there' was a good deal to encourage promoters in the hope that this genuine mining venture ■ would meet with the reward which it da.' served. The chairman also referred to the , increased activity in gold dredging in the south. With regard to new ventures, Mr Creagh', said it had been suggested to him that -Be, mining promotions should be permitted apart) from Government sanction.. That, it was thought, would save the public from being, „ taken advantage of by an unscrupulous opm-, 1 pany promoter. .■ ; Proven Hon is better then eon. so always, keep a bottle of "NAZOL,’' and as soon as you feel the slightest indication coming cold take a dose,—Adai. .v-.J'- I !.*-:#'
