PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
Mrs- John Hamer, who will be the principal soloist at the Philharmonic concert, is well known in Dnnedin as a soprano vocalist of uncommon charm and accomplishment. The daughter of the late Mr John Fuller, she huU very careful training at Adelaide and elsewhere for her art, and, prior to marriage won many triumphs professionally on the concert platform in Australia <vnd New Zealand. Mrs Hamer has a full soprano voice of great compass and purity, and artistically and vocally is universally equipped for the interpretation of such arduous numbers as the aria from “Aida,” which will be her chief contribution on Thursday nigiit.
