HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S SHOW.
«y - ■ ■ The summer show of the Dunedin Horticultural Society, which opens to-day,, promises to be one ot exceptional interest, and though the number of exhibits in roses is not quite up to the average, there wall be quantities of hardy cut flowers, not plants, etc. In the rose section there will be quite a number of varieties which have never before, been exhibited in Dunedin, including Betty Uprichard, Lady Inchiquin. Leslie Pidgeon, Adolph Karger, and Charming. Among last year’s novelties there will be Earl Haig, Elizabeth Cullen, Ethel Somerset’, Dainty, Marjory Bulkley, Una Wallace, Glory of Steinfurth, and Jacotte. Messrs Perrctt and Marshall are setting up a fine disnlay of pot plants. Mr MTntyre has an interesting collection of natives, and Mr S. Cousins Alhvoodii carnations and roses. The City Council’s reserves department will again furnish the stage with pot plants and hardy cut flowers, and quite an interesting show is assured.
