SPIRITUAL HEALING.
THE HICKSON MISSION.; 3000 PATIENTS AT TTMAEU. , (Per Uniter Press Association.) TIMARU, December 10. _ The Hickson mission opened here this evening, and will. extend up to Wednesday. One thousand patients will be presented, many coming from Oamaru and several x from Wellington, who were unable to attend the mission there. CURES IN DUNEDIN. SOME REMARKABLE CASES. i The aftermath of Mr J. M. Hickson’s mission of healing is already noticeable to a considerable degree in Dunedin, and a number of new cures have been reported to several Anglican ministers. Careful investigations have shown most of these reports to be founded on fact. The Rev. V. G. Bryan King cited a case yesterday where a young man aged 18 years, who had been’blind from birth, was able to attend church on Sunday. An expressman told Mr King yesterday that his son, who suffered from an impediment in his speech, could now speak clearly without any difficulty. Another clergyman reported that a largo number of cures were being vouched for everywhere, and he had been deeply impressed with the progress shown in the cases he had visited' He mentioned one very striking cure of a woman who some years ago was operated on for spinal trouble. The operation waa a success, but there was a considerable amount of stiffness and pain. Since she attended the mission, however, this had all disappeared. A man paralysed on his left side could now move his arm as the result of the mission- . . The case referred to by Bishop Richards at the thanksgiving service on Friday night, where a man suffered from a severe burn on his left foot, and walked as though h© had a pound or two of lead in his boot, was making rapid progress.
