TWO CHILDREN DROWNED
— ' PARENTS UNABLE TO ASSIST. A PATHETIC TRAGEDY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, December JiO. Two little girls aged 12 and 15 years respectively were drowned in the George River. They were bathing and got beyond their depth. Their difficulties attracted their father, who is not a swimmer. He endeavoured to rescue both the children, but owing to the slippery bed of the river and the struggles of the girls he was forced to free his hold to save himself. The mother was compelled to stand on the bank and watch her daughters drown. She was not ablo to ofier assistance.
