HUSBAND AND WIFE. A PATHETIC TRAGEDY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copying rt BRISBANE, November 14. A pathetic double suicide is reported. When Donald MTvenzie was arrested on a charge of conspiracy to rob his wife, she wrote to the police stating that as her husband was charged with an offence against the law she intended to commit suicide, at the same time expressing un dying love for her husband. Next day the wife’s body was found with revolver wounds in the head and breast. MTCenzie was subsequently convicted and sentenced to six months’ imprison ment. The sentence was suspended. While the resumed inquiry into the wife s death was in progress, M’Kenzie was found Iving dead bv his wife’s grave. By his side was a discharged revolver and his wife’s photograph. At the opening of the inquiry into his wife’s death, he gave evidence that bis wife had proposed that they should commit suicide together.
