Frederick Wcstcott, aped 58, a storekeeper, living at Balham, was charged at t!io Southwestern Police Court, with attempting to commit suicide. Police Constable Ogilvie said the prisoner cam© up to him bleeding from a wound in the throat, saying: "I’ve tried to do mveelf in, but the knife wasn’t sharp enough. I’m down and . out.” A man in court' having tffered the • nran employment, the magistrate discharged him.
