NEW WINTER STYLE FOR WOMEN. A short tailored coat, which is double breasted and opens in a long V, has moderately tight sleeves and, a roll collar just like, that on the jacket of a man’s dinner suit, is expected to he much worn by womeri, in the winter, which is now beginning a"£ Home. Made in serge, rep or cloth, it is severely simple. Sometimes it is braided ami occasionally a little embroidery is introduced. Worn with a pleated or wrap-over skirt in tho same or a contrasting colour, it has completely superseded the velvet coal which had such a vogue last winter. Dark shades will be the. most, popular in London, but in Paris these coats are seen in bright colours, including the new tone of “green gold.” “Hie success of such a coat, lies in its entj,” said a dressmaker, who included several dinner jacket suits in her show of autumn fashions.
