DUNEDIN FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.

The, monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin- Free Kindergarten Association was held on Thursday afternoon, Miss Alexander (president) occupying the chair. It was reported that a bazaar held during the month by the St. Kilda Mothers’ Club and sub-committee realised £3B ss; that the Kclsey-Yaralla Hearth-fire Club cleared £5; that the street sale of Mrs Isaacs’s lilies of the valley brought in £l2; and that tho dance in aid of the funds yielded £6l 4s. Miss Ulrich recorded her appreciation of tho help of business firms and friends of the association, who, by donations and personal services, had made tho dance such a success. The collector handed in over £2O. It was reported that a visit had been paid to the R. S. Reynolds Kindergarten by tho Hon. C. J. Parr (Minister of Education), Mr Spencer (Buildings Inspector for the Department), and Mr John Caughley (Director of Education). Tho visitors had expressed warm approval of (ho kindergarten building and tho excellent work done therein. Miss Hatioock reported that the St. Kilda children had spent an interesting morning at a poultry farm, and that several kind donors have sent gifts to tho St. Kilda Kindergarten during the month. It wan. decided to hold a rummage sale in aid of the funds of tho association about the 22nd inst. It was resolved that the various kindergartens break-up for tho summer holidays on the 18th, 19th, and 20lh December respectively. Tho Education Committee reported (hat Professor I). R. White and tho Misses Ross and Goldsmith wore examining tho students in their theory.
