Two sisters—apparently all in all to each other—had lived together for many years. Then, when one was ninety-eight and the other ninety-six, the elder died. The relative who undertook the task of breaking the painful news to the survivor feared the shock would be fatal to her. But the old lady, bore up wonderfully. “Ah. well,’’ she replied, “now I suppose I shal' be able to have mv tea made as I like it.” “My daughter sprang from a line of peers,” said a proud father. “Well,” said her suitor, “I once jumped off a dock myself.”
