OTAGO LAND BOARD.

The annual meeting of the Otago Land Board was hold on Wednesday and was attended by—Messrs R. T. Sadd (chairman). Geo. Livingstone, T. A. Munro, James Smith, and C. J. Inder. DISPOSAL OF LAND. Herbert M. Neil applied for section 18s Teviot Settlement, 497 acres.—Granted. Ronald E. Neill applied for section 17s, Teviot Settlement, 782 acres.—^Granted. Reconsideratou was given to the application by Mrs \V. H .George for a license to carry additional parts of section 81, block I, Naseby district, and it was resolved to adhere to the previous decision. W. J. O’Connor applied for a renewable lease over an area of 6 acres of S.G. run 244 F, Tiger Hill district. —It was resolved to recommend the Governor-General to authorise the Commissioner to accept partial surrender of S.G. run, under section 245 of the Land Act, ISCB, and that formal application bo made for a renewable lease. Hickey and Stevenson made inquiry in regard to temporary grazing right over section Is, Wairuna Settlement.—-It was resolved to offer a month to month license at a rental of £ll 2s per month, subject to noxious weeds and rabbits being kept down, buildings not being interfered with, and that fencing be kept in good order and condition. The Commissioner of Crown Lands to arrange for a reasonable rent. Wm. Toms applied for an occupation lease over an area of 12 acres adjoining section 29, block I, Bannockburn district. — It was resolved to rescind a resolution of April 8, 1914, and now decline the application. Applicant to be informed that he may renew his application when tho coal lease is surrendered. M. Moran applied for a lease of section 70, block 11, Tiger Hill district, containing 1 acre 1 rood 39 polos.—lt was decided to grant a license until the section is offered for selection, at a rental of 10s per annum. C. W. Wardell applied for permission to construct water race through section 1, block 111, Ahnriri district, from Ahuriri River to his rim 291 C, and for a license over the area ocoupied by the race, with an area of 60 links on each side.—Resolved to grant application to construct the race, and to grant a license under section 130 of tho Land Act for the land occupied by the race, 60 links on either side of the race at a rental of 5s per annum, subject to easement and a condition that tho Crown reserves tho right to take not exceeding four heads of water from the. race, applicant to bear cost of survey, and furnish a plan for approval and record Charles Hedges applied for a grazing license over section 127, Town of Koniako; area 2 acres 1 rood 20 poles.—lt was resolved to grant a yearly license under section 130 of the Land Act at a rental of 10s per annum, subject to three months’ notice of determination, and to satisfactory arrangements being made with the late licensee in the matter of fencing. James Cairns applied for an increased area of mining reserve in block VII, Lauder district.—lt was resolved to add the area applied for to applicant’s present license at an increase of rental of 12s 6d per annum subject to a condition that applicant shall not have the right to interfere with Mr D. Fraser’s present fencing. Colin lessee of Manuka Island, block 11, Hillend district, applied for a license to occupy a small area on the mainland between the Island and the Main road. —It was resolved to cancel Clark’s license and start a license to the present applicant, at the same rental, and on (he same conditions, subject to payment of fencing by Clark, the ranger to value fencing. A. 11. Lennox applied for a crib site license over section 21, block XVI, Dunedin, and East Taiori district, area -1 rood 4 poles.—Application granted under section 130 of tho Land Act, at a rental of £1 per annum. Wm. Murdoch Gordon applied for an occupation lease over section 118, block I, Teviot district, containing 4 acres 3 roods. — It was resolved to recommend that tho application bo declined meantime. Application to bo renewed when the Teviot-Alex-andra Power Board surrenders its claim over tho area. Gilbert Winsloe, owner of section 121, block 11, Teviot district, applied to purchase area of abandoned water race within the said section. —It was resolved to recommend the application for approval under section 131 of the Land Act, at a capital value of £4. John Wm. Maidens wrote relinquishing his license over an area of 10 acres adjoining section 5, block VI, Gatlins district. —lt was resolved to cancel Maiden’s mining lease and grant one to E. M. Lake at the same rental. Rent to be refunded to Maidens. James A. Nichol wrote slating that he could not proceed with his selection of section 18s, Teviot Settlement.—lt was resolved to recommend that the deposit for rent be refunded. R. L. M'Bean applied to purchase a stone building on section 34, Maerewhenua Settlement, —It was resolved to recommend that tho building lie sold to M’Bean for £IOO. With regard to the reconsideration of tho proposal to include in miscellaneous license 2935 Waitaki Islands, an area of Crown land excluded from sections la and 2a, it was decided to hold the matter over for inspection of the property. J. A. Fraser applied for one acre out of section 3v, block XVI, Tarras, for a site on which to erect a house. The application wa s approved on July 11 last, but the applicant had not completed the transaction. He was notified on the 22nd ult, that the board would be asked to cancel grant if he did not complete. He has not replied.—Grant to be cancelled. Ranger E. O’Neill reported on sections 5-7, block XL, and 1-5, block XLV, town of Alexandra.— It was resolved that the section be classified as suburban land and offered at an upset price, burdened * with valuations for improvement. Tho board was requested to consider the question of the disposal of section 70, block 11, Tiger Hill district, containing 1 aerd 1 rood 39 poles.—lt was resolved to offer tho section for on the optional system at a capital value of £lO. The hoard was requested to authorise the rooftering for sale of section 35. township of Cranston, Anderson’s Bay.—lt was resolved to recommend that the section he reoffered for sale by public auction at an upset price of £135.
