SUPPLIES OF BUTTER.
AFFECTED BY BAD WEATHER. DANGER OF A SHORTAGE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) AUCKLAND, June 26. A long spell of wet weather has resulted in a. serious falling off in' the production of winter butter, and if this continues there is a likelihood of a pinch in this market before the new season opens about the middle of August. There is also a possibility that supplies of butter for the South Island will require to be drawn from Auckland. Butter has also been shipped to Australia, and some of the stocks held in the freezers here are sold for shipment to the commonwealth. As far as the London market is concerned the latest reports are not encouraging with regard to butter, and the outlook for better prices ruling in the near future is not considered good locally.
