CLAIMS OP SOUTH ISLAND. (From Ode Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, June 25. me question of a separate Main Hisrfaways Board for th© South Island was retell ed to in the House of Representatives this evening by Mr P. A. do la Perrelle (Avarua). He gave notice to ask the Minister of Public Works whether, with, a view to equitable expenditure as between th© two islands, he would take into consideration the desirability of a separate South island board. He said there was a testing of imeasiness in the South! Island regarding the constitution of th© board, and it was essential for its success that the public should have confidence in it.
