LONDON MARKETS. The National Mortgage and Agency Company are in receipt of the following cable from Messrs A. J. Mills -and Co. (Ltd.). London, dated Juno 23, 1923:—Butter; Market is weak; salted, 150 s; unsalted, 152 s to 1545. Cheese; Market has a downward tendency; white, 90s; coloured, 86s. NATIONAL BANK’S PROFITS. (Per Uniteo fiu-iss Association.) WELLINGTON, June 25. In reference to the cable stating that the National Bank’s profits were £370,867, the bank states that the profits for the half-year amounted to £223,746, which, including £142,121 brought forward from the previous year, makes the total as above. This amount is £16,000 more than for the previous year, but the bank ha.s had the use of £250,000 of new capital. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report as- follows: Oats: The inquiry for heavy Cartons suitable for milling continues, but the demand for shipment is poor. A Cartons, 2s lid to 3s; B Cartons, 2s 8d; undergrade, from 2s per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat: All lines in milling condition are being readily taken by millers at agreement prices. Fowl wheat is firm, and is realising up to 4s 3d per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes: Prices are unchanged, and w© quote best table potatos, £ll to £ll 10s per ton. Chaff; The shipping demand is easier, and consequently the price for prime oaten sheaf is lower. Other descriptions are also slower of sale. Prime oaten sheaf, to £5 ss; good to beat feed, £4 5s to £4 15s; inferior, £2 to £3 10a per ton (sacks extra). Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report as under:—Oats: The market is unsteady, and shippers are not operating, except at low values. The only demand is for heavy Cartons suitable for milling at 2s lid to 3s ; B Cartons, 2s 8cl; under-grade, 2s 3d to 3» 7d. Wheat: The fowl wheat market is firm at 4s 3d, ex truck, Dunedin. Potatoes; Tho market remains the same as last week—namely, £ll to £ll 10s per ton. Chaff: The market is easier, and the only demand is for prime chaff at £5 to £3 ss; good to best feed is difficult to sell at £4 to £4 15s: medium, light, and discoloured, £2 to £3 10s (sacks extra). » c
