(Received June 25, at 8.50 p.m.) The New Zealand Association football representatives narrowly escaped defeat by New South Wales. The first spell produced no score, though the local men persistently peppered Craxton with shots from all angles. The visiting goalkeeper was compelled to concede a couple of corners, but otherwise he gave a fine display. Sherringham, who was endeavouring to emulate last Wednesday’s performance, was always troublesome. In the second half Campbell led his side in a number of dribbling invasions, in which he was ably supported by Innes and Dacre. The last-named, after an opportune dash, found the net. New Zealand 1 goal, New South Wales 0. The homo men vainly endeavoured to beat Craxton, but the goalkeeper, with Braithwaite, repeatedly repulsed the Blues.
