Monday, June 25. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Tho Defence Act. —George Frye, who had been given six months in which to improve his attendance at parades and had tailed to do so, was fined £3 and costs (7s). Prohibition Order Broken.-—Henare Parata, charged with being found on licensed premises during the currency of his prohibition order, did not appear, but forwarded a letter admitting his guilt.—Tho Magistrate said that the cost of translating tho letter amounted to 17s. Parata would be fined 10s, and costs (£1 4s). A tram approached, and he bad misjudged the space left for getting past.— The Senior-sergeant remarked that. Die expenses were heavy. One witness had been brought from Clyde.—A conviction was entered, and Allan was ordered to pay expenses and costs totalling £6 14s.
