A missionary sale of -work in connection with, the Methodist Chnrch, Port Chalmers, was held on Thursday in the Druids’ Ha.ll, but its success was 'greatly hampered by tho exceptionally unpropitious weather. Notwithstanding this, approximately £25 was taken. The effort had been organised under the leadership of Misses Olds and Grono, ably seconded by members of the Young f ,Women’s Senior Bible Class and other lady helpers. The Otago Radio Association sent out a very successful concert last evening from 8 o’clock till 10.15. Solos were rendered by Miss Buss and Miss Netta Wilkie, recitations and musical monologues by Mrs Adair, pianoforte solos by Mr Drewitt, a flute solo by Mr D. Barton, a violin solo by Mr Leva! and Miss Bessie Paine, a cello solo by Mr Passmore, and a trio by Messrs Passmore, Legal, and Drewitt. The transmission concluded with a community sing and a verse of the National Anthem. An alteration has been made to the transmitting set and tho results were entirely satisfactory. The piano was kindly lent by Mr Kroon. The association will endeavour to put on a good concert next Friday evening and to maintain the standard now set. The thanks of tho association are due to Mrs Adair for arranging the concert.
