GOOD DECEPTION AT HAMILTON.

VISIT TO OTAGO WINTER SHOW. PRESENTATION AND BANQUET. (From Oce Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, May 30. The Prime Minister returned to Wellington to-day In accordance with a promise made 12 months ago ho visited Hamilton for the purpose of opening the Waikato Winter Show. The function was a great success, and attracted thousands of the public from both country and town. Mr Massey had a most enthusiastic reception, being repeatedly cheered, and both at the commencement of his speech and at tho conclusion the great crowd sang “For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.’’ The entries for the show were 40 per cent, ahead of last year’s total, and Waikato settlors are generally in good heart over the very fine season, which is now nearly over. Next week Mr Massey will visit Christchurch and Dunedin. In tho latter place he will attend the Winter Show in company with tho Hon. W. Downie Stewart and the Hon, W. Nosworthy, who is booked to officially open the show. Arrangements are being made by Dunedin citizens to make a presentation to Mr Massey and to entertain him at a banquet if a suitable date can bo arranged.
