TIMARU SESSIONS. A LIGHT CALENDAR, (Pm United Cbem Association.) TIMARU, May 1. The Supreme Court session opened to-day, before Mr Justice Adams. His Honor con gratulated the grand jury on the lightness of the calendar, there being only two cases for consideration. The grand jury returned “no bill” against Charles Henry Smith, for alleged theft. James Myles, who had pleaded guilty to theft, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment Frederick G. Smith, for theft at Waimate, was found guilty, and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, and declared an habitual criminal.
