A FIENDISH CRIMINAL
GRUESOME SCENE AT NANCY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, March 1. (Received March 2, at 8.25 p.m.) A gruesome scene was witnessed at Nancy when Salvador was taken to the scene of his crimes and forced to witness the exhumation of his victims. Salvador stood unmoved while fragments of bones, pieces of clothing, paper, and empty purses were recovered. He related cynically how he led his victims in turn to the edge of the dugcrut and killed them.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
[The charges against Camille Salvador, a ganger employed in destroying ammunition dumps, eclipse those for which tire notorious Landru was executed.- It is alleged that Salvador, in order to secure the money of the men in his gang, blew up the dumps, killing the men, pocketing their money, and reporting that their deaths were accidental. Salvador admits his crime. Other similar unaccountable explosions with heavy mortality are recalled. Salvador, when charged in connection therewith, was silent. His arrest was duo to an attempt to cash a bond belonging to one of the victims.]
