SALVAGE OPERATIONS
ARMOURED CRUISER NATAL. Praia Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 1. Salvage operations have been begun to raise the armoured cruiser Natal, which was sunk in Cromarty Firth on New Year’s Eve, 1915, when 300 men, women, and children, mostly guests for the New Year festivities, perished by an explosion, the cause of which is a mystery to the present day. It is expected to take a conplo of years to raise the vessel.—A. and N.Z. Gable.
