She went to see a friend off on tho train and immediately the train started she, collapsed on tho platform and died of heart failure. Deceased was a widow. WATERSIDE WORKER’S DEATH. While unloading caigo from the steamer KaJkoura at the Rattray street wharf yesterday morning a single man named Kenneth White, aped 24 years, who lives with liis father at Kavensbourue, was struck on the head by a sling. It appears that tho sling gave a lurch, and White attempted to dodge it, hut in doing so it crashed hia head against an iron girder. After the injured man had been attended to by the ship’s doctor he was removed to tho Hospital, where he was operated upon, but ho died at 10.45 a.m. An ironest was formally opened in the evening, and was adjourned after evidence of identification had been given. A man named William Nesbitt, who lives in Bay View road, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday afternoon suffering from a fracture of the right leg. caused by a stone rolling on him. During the fireworks display at the Caledonian Ground on Thursday night a young man named Alexander Saunders was struck on the hack of tho neck with a rocket and knocked unconscious. He was taken to the Hospital suffering from shock; but is now progressing towards leenvcry.
