MURDERER’S HANDSHAKE
WIFE BURIED ALIVE. Dubin Novkin, arrested with Abraham Becker a few weeks ago, when the body of a woman dug up by the police was identified as that of Becker’s wife, who disappeared last April, has confessed to the New York police details of the sensational murder of Mrs Becker.
He said) that. Becker, who was indicted for murder by the grand jury induced his wile to take a motor car rifle. During the ride Becker pretended that something was wrong with the engine, and asked her to help hun. Sho was bending to do so when Becker, he said, stiuck her with an iron bar. Norkiu declared that ho helped Becker bury bis wife, and that when they had finished covering her up they shook hands over her grave and pledged secrecy. Norkin swears that the murder was carefully rehearsed several times.
The police fear that another woman, known to have been a friend of Norkin, and who disappeared Home time ago, may have mot a similar fate.
