BOWLING. A suggestion was made last year by the Otago Central Bowling Centre that an intercetilro tournament be held in Dunedin this year between players representing the Central Otago. North Otago, South Otago, and Dunedin Centres. The suggestion was approved of by tho centres named. The games wore to be played in Dunedin this week, but word has been received from South Otago and North Otago that they cannot get sufficient players willing to make (lie trip. Four rinks are, however, coming from Central Otago on Wednesday evening. Arrangements, have been made to give tho-visitors a game on tho Otago Green on Thursday afternoon, on Friday morning on St. Glair Green, and on Friday afternoon on Knituna Green. The game on Kaituiia Green will be the official match Dunedin Centre v. Central Otago Centre. All games will bo four rinks. FOUR-RINK CHAMPIONSHIP. N.E. Valley v. BILLIARDS. PROPOSED AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. By the Latest English mail particulars of a proposed British Empire Amateur Billiards Championship arc to hand. The draft conditions stale that tho first championship shall be played in London under the entire management of the Billiards Association and Control Council —the promoters of tho scheme — and in the event of the championship being won by a dominion representative succeeding cimmpffinships shall be played in the country holding the title. It is proposed that the first championship shall bo played in London at the latter end of the present year and every alternate year thercatter. THE AMERICAN ATHLETES. (Pku United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 13. Krogncss, the American athlete, who was injured at Auckland, is much improved. The injury will not permit him appearing at tho Wellington chamnionship meeting on Saturday, but ho expects to be fully recovered for tho New Zealand championships.
