The Legion of Frontiersmen is arranging: a world flight, to start in the spring, with Captains Macmillan, Geoffrey, and Malins as pilot, engineer, and observer respec-. lively. A second pilot will also be earned. The machine is of the amphibious type, and is being built in sections, so' that even the constructors will not know its secrets. Two months before the flight a special supply ship will visit the desolate parts of the rout© and will leave petrol and food dumps on uninhabited places, such as the Aleutian Islands. The dumps will be especially marked in order to be visible to the aviators at a high altitude. Captain Malins, interviewed, said: ‘ W« are receiving the Air Ministry’s wholehearted support. The aeroplane will be the finest ever built, and will include a wireless direction finder, which will register the height from the sea, and the distance from land.
