Thursday, January 18. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) Theft of nn Overcoat.—Albert Victor Dent admitted the theft of an overcoat, valued at £5, the property of Harold Stenhouse. —Chief Detective Bishop said that the accused had been released from gaol only in December. He had then been arrested on a charge of false pretences. The overcoat was stolon from the hall of a private boarding-house, kept by the complainant.—The Magistrate; He has a bod record. Throe months’ imprisonment, with hard labour. Drunkenness. —William M'Carthy was fined 10s, and ordered to pay cab hire (2s Od) for drunkenness. —A first offender was fined the amount of his bail (£1).
