Begg is credited with saying that tho whole trouble was that the only main supplying South Dunedin and St. Kilda was a 6-inch pipe running through King Edward road. 1 admit that is tiue and therein lies the grievance that exists at tho present time, but according to an agreement drawn up as ■(;' a result of a conference batween the City Council, tho St. Kilda Borough, and the Bay Town Board on October 31, 1910, tho following conditions were approved of:— (1) That the City Corporation remove the St.: Kilda meter ‘to the city boundary at Bay View road, put in the necessary valve*. . alon«- Anderson’s Bay rood, connect the 4-inc°h main at l.lacandrpw road and the 1-inch main at Bay View load to the present 6-inch main belonging to St. Kilda at its cost; the city also to connect the 4-mch main at Hancock's store to the 6-inch main at King Edward road at the request of tho St. Kilda Borough.
