CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 17. The Nurserymen's Conference opened today. Mr Buxton, in Ids presidential address, said that the outlook was bright, and referred to the increased membership gained since the appointment of an organiser. The Minister of Agriculture spoke of the progress of the nursery industry, and emphasised that only the host fruit should bp exported. Personally, ho believed it would bo best to devote most attention to the South American market. He agreed that there was need for a horticulture school, but wo would have to wait until the financial position improved.
