The Lily of Iho Valley Lodge held its usual meeting in the hall. Albany street, A.D.. Bro. Bradshaw presiding over a good attendance. P.A. Bro. Wilson (Bay Lodge) being a welcome visitor. The standing orders were suspended for the purpose of admitting a candidate into the order, the new officers conducting the ceremony in an efficient manner. A number of applications for (he position of secretary wore placed before the meeting, and after consideration it was decided to appoint P.A. Bro. A. Watson to the office for the current term, after which the position would be reviewed. The Syllabus Committee gave its report, which was adopted. Word has been received that P.A. Bio. Thompson (All Nations) and P.A. Bro. Wilson have been elected respectively as District Presidents, subject to the approval of the Grand Lodge in session. The first meeting of Enterprise Lodge for 1929 was he'd on January 10. Sick pay was passed and one member was initiated. Some discussion took place in connection with the new lodge odes, and the matter will bo brought before tbe Royal Arch Chapter for consideration. All the brothers present gave a resume of their experience during holidays, which caused some amusement. Tho regular meeting of All Nations Lodge was held on January 9, and was presided over by A.U. Bio. Clark. Thei - * was a good attendance of brothers, and. the usual routine business was despatched. Bro. G. Thompson reported on the sick brother, and tho sick pay was passed for payment. The Grand Secretary notified that Bro. G. Thompson had boon elected D.P., oubject to ratification by Grand Lodge. A letter of sympathy was forwarded to the widow of tho late Bro Elsom. Tho committee that carried out the children’s night so successfully was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It was decided to open the meetings at 8 p.m. instead of 7.90 p.m. during the summer months.

Pride of Mornington commenced the new year on Thursday last, Bro. Horwood presiding over an attendance of 15 members, t .A. Bro. Wilson was also present. The usual routine business was carried out, and nominations lor judge of the efficiency competitions vvero called for. Bro. Watt was tho only member nominated. "Holiday Kxperi-encc-s” was the subject for tho evening, and the narration of these by the members caused considerable merriment, the inevitable fishing story being well in evidence. All tho brothers contributed a few remarks and the meeting closed with a, game of quoits. A splendid attendance of members and visitors greeted A.D. Bro, J.4H'. Faulds, of Ivanhoe Lodge, at the last fortnightly meeting. The bards reported on the aide brethren and sick pay was passed. The Syllabus Committee reported progress in connection with children's night, which was fixed for February. Nations) thanked tho lodge for their support in electing him D.P. for the district. Having secured the Oddfellows’ Hall, Stuart street, it was decided to remove to same, and change the meeting night from Monday to Wednesday.
